How to Join

Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Co. #2 has been proudly serving the citizens of Montgomery Township and beyond since 1946. Our primary protection area is the southern portion of the township, a diverse area with rural farmlands, schools, an airport, a railroad, miles of highway, businesses of all types and residential homes and townhouses.

Our fire company is and always has been 100% volunteer. Our members are not paid for their services. Our members are your neighbors and come from all walks of life, including students, professors, dentists, welders, lawyers, businessmen, plumbers, corporate employees, horse trainers, self employed entrepreneurs, stay at home parents and retirees. The men and women of our company range in age from 14 to 102. What brings us together is our community spirit and the satisfaction of knowing that our collaborative effort makes everyone in the community safer, and keeps down the cost of living by lowering taxes and insurance rates.

When needed we answer the call, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

We are currently seeking members for all levels of participation. It doesn't matter who you are, there's a job that suits you in our fire company.

Each Wednesday we meet at 7:00 PM. What is done each Wednesday night is determined by what week of the month it happens to be. The first week is always a work session where all members contribute their part towards the maintenance of the trucks, upkeep of the building, and any other service projects the company may undertake. The second week all members convene for our monthly business meeting in which we discuss and vote upon issues that face the company. The 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of the month are dedicated towards drilling in which all Active members gather to train in preparation for real emergencies.

Membership has its Privileges !!!

Our members are not paid, but there are several benefits including:

  • A Length of Service Awards Program: (a retirement account with deposits of up to $1,200 per year)
